Chairman, Cherubim and Seraphim Movement Worldwide, Prophet Samuel Abidoye has counseled politicians to embark on issues based campaigns ahead of 2023 elections.
Prophet Abidoye, who is also the Baba Aladura of the church, urged the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to serve as an unbiased umpire by conducting free and fair elections.
The spiritual father added that “Nigerians of voting age should participate actively in choosing their leaders. They should also shun vote-buying and thuggery.”
Prophet Abidoye told reporters in the church Galilee in Orile-Igbon along Ilorin-Ogbomoso express way as part of activities for the church’s international conference for this year.
Said: “We are approaching another election next year, it behoves us to get it right and vote wisely to save the nation from collapse.

“Politicians and critical stakeholders should make their campaigns issues based while INEC should be unbiased umpire and conduct a free and fair election.”
On insecurity, the centenarian said that “one thing we cannot but talk about, is the increasing insecurity in the land. On a daily basis, people are being killed and kidnapped with ransom being demanded.
“Nigerians in diaspora now find it difficult to come home and invest as a result of insecurity. This ugly trend should be addressed and culprits should face the law to serve as deterrent to others.”
Prophet Abidoye also decried the rising cost of living in the country, adding that many a Nigerian find it very difficult to eke a living.
