In his homily at the funeral mass at the playground of St. Peter’s Secondary School in Agenebode, Bishop of Catholic Diocese of Auchi, Most Rev. Gabriel Dunia, described the late Dokpesi as humility personified.
The cleric said the DAAR Communication founder also gave so much through charity.
Bishop Dunia said: “Charity covers a multitude of sins. He (Dokpesi) represented charity. He repented, and reconciled with his Creator prior to his demise. We must use this occasion, whoever we are, to return to God.
“We must continue with charity works. The dead can no longer do charity because he (Dokpesi) stated that even in his death, he would continue to do charity, through his media organisations.”
Shuaibu described the late chieftain of the PDP as a fearless politician who was never afraid to speak truth to power, thereby displaying boldness and courage.
The deputy governor noted that in Nigeria and other parts of Africa of today, there could be no discussion on media without the mention of Dokpesi due to his pioneering efforts through the establishment of AIT and Ray Power FM.
The remains of the late high chief were interred at his home in Agenebode.
