Estate reaffirms attorney’s appointment

THE Board of Trustees (BoT) of the Estate of Madam Efunroye Tinubu has reaffirmed the appointment of Chief Executive Officer of Adamakin Works and Investments Ltd, Akinfolabi Akindele, as attorney of the property of the late business mogul.

BoT Chairman, Alhaji Adio Lumosa, in a joint statement by the two families’ representatives – Monsuru Lumosa and Alfa Sule Sobowale – denied claims another firm hadbeen given the power of attorney.

They insisted Akindele retains the Power of Attorney over the estate.

Lumosa emphasised that the two families, who have legal authority as beneficiaries to the estate of Madam Tinubu had no dispute to warrant a change of attorney.

He urged the public to be cautious about dealing with unauthorised persons who claim to have the Power of Attorney of Efunroye Tinubu.

Lumosa urged the police to arrest those claiming to possess the Power of Attorney to save Nigerians from falling prey to impersonators.

He noted a suit: LSD/GC/105078, affirmed their authority as beneficiaries of the estate.

BOT Secretary, Temilola Adesanya, also debunked a publication claiming another attorney had been appointed, stressing the trustees did not meet to take such a decision.

Adesanya said the public notice did not represent the position of the family, adding one of the two members of the trustees was indisposed at the time of the publication and could not have appended his signature to it.

He warned that any person or group of persons that deals with the purported new attorney do so at his or her peril as the new firm does not have the support of Efunroye Tinubu family.

Adesanya said Lumosa and Vice Chairman, Dr. Gabriel Fasetire, denied signing the publication as such a decision was never taken.
