Ex-convict, two others held for motorbike theft in Kwara

Kwara state command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps

(NSCDC) yesterday paraded 26-year-old ex-convict, Taiwo Elijah, and two

others for allegedly stealing three motorbikes.

The bikes, which were also displayed, were said to have been stolen in  Oro, Irepodun local government area of the state and Ogbomoso, Oyo state.

The names of the other two suspects are Abifarin Sunday, 35, and Wasiu Ismail, 30.

The command also paraded five persons for allegedly receiving the stolen items.

Parading the suspects in Ilorin, the state capital, the Command’s spokesman, Olasunkanmi Ayeni, said Taiwo Elijah returned from prison not too long ago.

Ayeni said: “We have had cases of motorbike theft in Kwara State and its environs of late. The bikes being paraded today were stolen on July 15th and the suspects were chased and apprehended by our men.

“Two out of the three bikes were stolen in Oro, Irepodun local government area of the state and the other stolen in Ogbomoso, Oyo state.

“The suspects conspired together and went to Ogbomoso to sell the motor bikes and our men went after them. After thorough investigations, they were able to arrest them. Both Abifarin Sunday and Taiwo Elijah were arrested in Oro, while Wasiu Ismail was arrested in Ilorin.”
