Ex-federal lawmaker installed Asiwaju Ba’ameto of Ibadanland

A former member of the House of Representatives in the Third Republic, Hon. Yekeen Alabi, was on Saturday installed the Asiwaju Ba’ameto of Ibadanland by the Olubadan, Oba Saliu Adetunji.

The ceremony which took place at the Mapo Hall in Ibadan was attended by dignitaries from all walks of life.

In his opening remarks at the ceremony, Oba Adetunji said the event was part of activities marking his first year anniversary as Olubadan of Ibadanland.

He said Hon. Alabi was conferred with the chieftaincy title because of his numerous contributions to the development of the city and Nigeria as a whole.

Alabi, who was former governorship aspirant in Kwara State, thanked the Olubadan and the Olubadan-in-Council for the honour bestowed on him and reiterated his commitment to the continued development of Ibadan and Nigeria.

The new Asiwaju Ba’ameto of Ibadanland was also a former helmsman of the Federal Radio Corporation of Nigeria (FRCN).
