The immediate past Chairman of the Federal Roads Maintenance Agency, Olajide Adeniji, is among eminent Nigerians, especially from Osun State, expected attend at the launching of N500 million infrastructural fund during this year’s Ajagun-Nla Day celebration at Ila-Orangun in Osun State.
The event, which will be attended by top government officials, will hold tomorrow at the town’s mini-stadium.
The chairman of the event’s Planning Committee, Chief Paul Ogunrinade, was quoted in a statement as saying the Alaafin of Oyo, Oba Lamidi Adeyemi III, is the Royal Father of the Day, while the Ooni of Ife, Oba Enitan Ogunwusi, is the Special Royal Launcher of the N500 million infrastructural facilities fund.
Former Osuns State Governor Bisi Akande is the Father of the Day, while the Orangun of Ila, Oba Wahab Oyedotun, is the Distinguished Royal Host.
Ogunrinade said Governor Rauf Aregbesola, the Secretary to the State Government, Alhaji Moshood Adeoti and other top government officials are expected the event.
Top members of the Senate and House of Representatives from Osun State as well as members of Osun State House of Assembly will attend the programme.
A former Inspector-General of Police, Tafa Balogun, is also expected at the event.
Ogunrinade said the celebration is for remembering Fagbamila Ajagunnla, a warrior and the progenitor of Ila-Orangun.
The town, which boasts eminent Nigerians in Yoruba land, has kith and kin in Ghana, North America and Latin America.
A statement by Ogunrinade said the chief hosts of the event are: Nigeria’s Ambassador to Republic of Guinea Bissau, Real Admiral Adeyemi Afolahan (retd.), the Director of Academic Planning at the Federal University of Agriculture in Abeokuta, Ogun State, Prof. Olusola Adeniran, a member of the National Assembly, Olufemi Fakeye, among others.
