Former Vice Chancellor of Lagos State University (LASU) Prof. Lateef Hussein is dead.
Hussein, a professor of Physics, was the 6th substantive VC of the institution; he served between 2005 and 2011.
He was aged 75.
Hussein died after a brief illness on Sunday.
The school announced his death on its Twitter page @LASUOfficial, early yesterday.
He worked as a lecturer in the Department of Physics, University of Ibadan.
Hussein was the chairman, University of Ibadan Muslim Community.
LASU VC Prof. Ibiyemi Olatunji-Bello has commiserated with the bereaved family.
Olatunji-Bello, in a statement yesterday, said: “I express my deep shock at the passing away of my former boss, under whose leadership I served as the Deputy Vice Chancellor of the university.”
