The wife of a former executive director of Union Bank of Nigeria Plc, Mrs. Magdalene Otue Esangbedo, is dead.
She died at the age of 57 years in a Lagos Hospital after a protracted illness.
Her husband, Anthony Esangbedo was an executive director of the bank.
Mrs. Esangbedo was a retired director with the Lagos State Ministry of Education where she served as principal at Oduduwa College Mushin, Ireti Grammar School Ikoyi, and finally Girls’ Senior Secondary Grammar School (GSGS) Ikoyi, Lagos.
She had earlier served at different capacities in schools in Kaduna and Edo states, as well as in Ansar Ud Deen Grammar School and Eko Girls Secondary School both in Isolo.
The deceased was a leading light in the welfare of Servicing and Retired Wives of Union Bank, where her contributions were impactful as an executive member of the group.
The deceased woman was also a Christian community leader, an astute educationist and a staunch catholic.
She is survived by her husband, Anthony, children, and grandchildren, brothers, sisters, and many other relations and friends.
Burial arrangements would be announced later by the family.
