Non-Governmental Organisation, Foodclique Support Initiative, has vowed to battle hunger.
The organisation urged governments to put in place policies to address food scarcity and wastage.
At a briefing ahead of October 16 set aside by United Nations to mark World Food Day, Chief Executive Officer, Mr. Ibrahim Onilegbale, lamented the increasing number of Nigerians facing hunger due to scarcity of food.
To mark the 10th anniversary of Foodclique, Onilegbale said the group would distribute 10,000 meals to the needy in three locations – Lagos Island, Lekki and Somolu.
“The group will consolidate on legacies of the late founder, Bolajoko Fadipe, by ensuring its intervention reaches every home in lacking food to eat, to touch more lives and make impact on the people as he always envisaged,” he said.

Operational Head, Sunkanmi Oladejo, hinted of plans to have a food bank, saying the group served 450,000 meals this year alone.
He said Foodclique would join governments in sensitising the public against wastage of foods.
Oladejo decried insecurity leading to food inaccessibility and aftermath of flooding ravaging parts of the nation.
He believed ta food bank would provide curb incessant food wastage.
Some activities lined up to mark this year’s World Food Day include Charity Football competition, tagged: Zero Hunger Match, PepsiCo Food Box distribution in Ayeteju Community in Ibeju Lekki and Fund Raising Dinner.
