Falcons should have nailed Canada – Edwin Okon

With the Canada 2015 FIFA Women’s World Cup  only nine days away, coach of Nigeria’s Super Falcons, Edwin Okon has stated that Monday night’s goalless draw in a friendly match between his team and the hosts of the female mundial is a clear indication that his side can hold their own against any top team in the world.

According to him, poor finishing from his players was the concern during the game and he hopes to make corrections when they play another friendly on Saturday against Woodbridge Female Football Club.

“If we can play the home side at this level I think there’s no side we’ll not be able to play. We missed many chances and made sure they had very few,” Okon said. “It’s a good one for us because we used it to access the players and now we’ll return to the drawing board to correct those lapses so that by the 30th when we play again we’ll adjust and correct the mistakes against Canada.”
