The Special Adviser on Transportation to Lagos State Governor, Hon. Toyin Fayinka, on Thursday received the Deputy Governor of the State, Dr. Obafemi Hamzat, to celebrate the 80th anniversary of his Alma Mata, Odu Abore Memorial Primary School in Mushin Local Government Area of the State.
Fayinka, at the event, donated two million naira towards the education appeal fund to celebrate the anniversary.
The Special Adviser, in his speech, explained that the donation was to reposition the education sector in the local government and avail indigent students the opportunity to go to school and become useful to themselves and the society at large.
Hamzat, in his address, emphasised that the best gift parents and guardians can offer their child or ward is education. He also stressed that students should take education seriously as it is a pathway to success.
He further announced the donation of an ICT centre to the school to mark the 80th anniversary.
At the event were Hon. Emmanuel Bamigboye; Chairman of Mushin Local Hon. Rasaq Ajala, Chairman of Odi Olowo LCDA; Commissioner of Education, Mrs. Adefisayo Folashade.
Others including State Assembly members representing Mushin Constituency II, Hon. Olayiwola Olawale; SUBEB Chairman, Hon. Wahab Alawiye-King, members of the Mushin Legislative Council, members of the State Education Board attended the event.
