FCBESCOLA Lagos Academy kicks off 2018/19 session

The annual FC Barca Lagos Academy summer session is set to kick off this month (September) at the Teslim Balogun Stadium, Surulere, Lagos.
The academy session, which is the fourth in a series, offers students between five to 18 years the opportunity to learn the values and methodology of FC Barcelona, whose brand of football is known and well respected worldwide.
According to the organisers, the primary objective of the new session was aimed at developing the rich talents that are everywhere in the country, without compromising the FC Barcelona globally acceptable values of teamwork, honesty, ambition, good leadership attitude and commitment among others.
FCBESCOLA LAGOS, modelled on FC Barcelona’s own youth system, is a center for youth development and grassroot empowerment, using football as the medium of empowerment.
With professional nurturing from the FCBarcelona coaches using the FC Barcelona Soccer methodology, the students are taught the club values of ethics and coexistence that are so representative of FC Barcelona: tolerance, respect, solidarity, friendship, fair play, integration, effort and happiness to enable them succeed in their professional soccer career at international levels.
“From our experience of the last session work so far, we have discovered that there are a lot of young talents with the passion to be future legends,” said Leslie Oghomienor, Chairman of Blaugrana Sports International, the official licensee of SUD Bescola Soccer School, Lagos.
“This season will start hopefuly september 10th 2018, it is a 10 months season, meaning the season will end next July. We will go the extra mile to discover and grow talents and expose them to more tested global tournaments, which are of immense value to all parties involved,” he said, adding, “we hope to achieve this new vision without relegating the teaching of the Barca values to the background.
“For us to come this far, it is because of the passion, commitment and the uncommon support of all the stakeholders, particularly the parents and guardians of our future legends. Their support made us and in their success we measure our pride.
“In agreement with the school calendar for 2017/2018 session, our focus now is to pursue talent discovery and development with all our strength. This passion informed the Elite 96 Scholarship Project. The only thing you need to qualify for the award which is applicable to both the academy’s students and non-students, is good attitude and exceptional talent,” Oghomiernor added.
