Bosso eyes bright start against Dominican Rep
.Unbothered about Italy, Brazil
Flying Eagles head coach, Ladan Bosso has stated that they are not bothered about the past records of Italy and Brazil who are touted as the leading teams in Group D of the FIFA U20 World Cup holding in Argentina next month.
Nigeria will face Dominican Republic first before tackling Italy and Brazil and Bosso in an interview with Naija Info noted that they would only reckon with the current form of their World Cup foes.
Bosso stressed that he was happy with the tough draw adding that it was best for them to start with difficult opponents before their steady progress.
“I had said it earlier that all teams in the competition have something to prove. It is a blessing in disguise that we are paired with Brazil, Italy, and the Dominican Republic,” Bosso said.”The more difficult you start may give way for easier route further in the competition.”
The former Kano Pillars and Abia Warriors coach explained that he is preparing a team that will try to win its first game convincingly to set the tone for a good competition.
“It is important we win our first game convincingly. It will build confidence in the team before the game with Italy who I believe is beatable.
“Nigerians should have confidence in us because we promise to give our very best.
“We have information about our opponents; we are talking about the current form of the teams. We are not scared about their previous records,” he sounded off.
