A pastor of the Church of God Mission, Pastor Matthew Okpebholo, has begun the construction of N250m dual carriage road project at the permanent site of the Benson Idahosa University.
Pastor Okpebholo who is Managing Director of Ray Royal Construction Company, said the project would be completed this year and maintained by his company for the next 25 years.
Okpebholo stated that he carried out the road construction as he had done in other universities because he wanted to be remembered for his deeds.
He said the road would be completed with walkways and built to international standard.
Chairman of the varsity’s Governing Council, Engineer S.O. Isibor, said the university has started moving to its permanent site with the completion of two hostels and the Faculty of Agricultural Science.
He listed projects ongoing at the permanent site to include the Faculty of Engineering, Faculty of Basic and Applied Science, adding that two additional hostels, recreational facilities and road construction were ongoing.
The visitor to the university, Archbishop Margaret Idahosa, who flagged off the road construction project, expressed delight at the spate of work at the permanent site of the university.
