A firm, Isek Limited, yesterday in Lagos unveiled an application, Rapisurv, which it said could help stem the tide of building collapse by supplying accurate data to the government, which would be used in monitoring the progress made in the build environment.

Its Chief Executive, Mr Tosin Abioye, who spoke with reporters, explained that if the government signs into app, which is a one-stop-shop for every player in the build environment, the government would be able to monitor building of houses in the state and reduce the menace of building collapse.

According to him, the app also enables users to calculate progress and valuation of construction work in progress, quantity of measured work or percentage of completion, adding that the system will calculate the value of work completed automatically.

Mr. Abioye said data collection is the major problem in the major sectors of the country, a void which the app will fill. He said it is capable of simplifying the work of quantity surveyors, estimators, cost engineers and contract managers on both the client’s and contractor’s side, making them more productive without losing the industry standard methods of measurement and best practices.

He said the Rapisurv app is a collaborative tool used to enhance project communication and keep record of all communication relating to a project throughout its life cycle.

According to Mr. Abioye, the solution allows tags to help users filter for an important message by highlighting messages in the project that have been tagged making it easy to find communication.

Documents and images can be shared as an attachment which makes it a great tool to help with paperwork reduction and quick collaborative connection to manage project issues, he added.

He said the app is also able to review pages and send to different individuals without wasting time and also deliver accurate data eliminating the issue of arithmetic error. The app gives the user the opportunity to collaborate.

According to him, lack of understanding brings about abandoned properties, saying: “We have so many abandoned projects because of dispute”. He said the app allows for easy collaboration with the architects or the engineers to ease supervision of projects.

The app, he said, allows bid which helps the user create a bid and submit without printing out, while the bid goes directly into the account of the client, consultant or main contractor who shared the unpriced bill with the user.

Rapisurv according to Mr Abioye, has acquired different types of licenses given to their users at different rate the standard plan license goes for N45,000 per month another license is the expert plan which contains everything not only a pre-contract phase one person license which goes for N450,000 per year targeted at small contractors which comes with ads on card integration but optional, the app also offers one time access where people can build their own plan.
