No fewer than five persons have lost their lives in a road crash that occurred in Isma village, along Bauchi-Jos road, while two others sustained serious injuries.
The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Sector Commander, Yusuf Abdullahi confirmed the crash to newsmen in Bauchi Saturday evening.
He said the crash involved a Peugeot 406 with plate number KRD649CA and a DAF tanker with number plate MSA394SA.
The sector commander attributed the cause of the crash to a speed violation.
“Seven people were involved in the fatal road crash and they were three male adults, three female adults, and 1 female child.
“Five of them lost their lives on the spot, which includes two male adults, 2 female adults, and 1 female child.
“Two others sustained various degrees of serious injuries and they are one male adult and one female adult,” he said.
The FRSC boss added that both the injured persons and the remains of the deceased had been taken to the Abubakar Tafawa Balewa Teaching Hospital (ATBU-TH) for treatment and confirmation.
