Five in race for Kwara Utd award

For their impressive performance in the month of March, five players of Kwara United have been nominated for the club’s Player of the Month Award.

Supersport.com learnt that the nominees include Segun Alebiosu, skipper Akim Onigbari, youngster Adesina Gata, Evans Iyoro and Dare Ojo.

Alebiosu leads the club’s goal chart with two goals against El-Kanemi Warriors and Wikki Tourists, while Iyoro scored the opener against El-Kanemi with an assist at Wikki to boost his chances.

The trio of Ojo, Onigbari and Gata also made massive impact in the month under review. Gata provided the assist for Iyoro’s goal on match day one.

Alebiosu and Gata continue from last season, when they won consecutive awards as the club pushed for promotion in the Nigeria National League.

Managed by Tunde Abdulrahman, Kwara United have made an impressive start in their return to the top flight to remain unbeaten in three matches including two on the road at difficult grounds against former champions, Dolphins and former NNL rivals, Wikki Tourists.

Supersport.com gathered that the winner of the Player-of-the-Month Award will be announced soon.

Instituted to celebrate and reward players, the Kwara United Player of the Month Award is powered by Nigeria’s leading Sports PR Agency, MatchRoom Sports & Media as well as leading indigenous kit producer, OWU Sportswear, which is the club’s kit producer.
