It featured prayer session for the widows and cutting of cake.
The founder, Ms Sarah Owatemi, said the mandate of the foundation was to feed the widows, adding that God wiped away their tears after the programme.
She said she was ready to serve humanity, whether it was convenient for her or not.
stating that she is fulfilled anytime she makes the downtrodden happy.
“We will continue to do what God wants us to do for humanity and that is why we are here again, today, to celebrate with the widows and other less-privileged members of the society. We are doing this in our own little way, and you need to see how happy the women are. The Yoruba, Hausa and Igbo are all here today. We don’t discriminate because hunger knows no tribe or religion. According to our capacity, we are here to serve all Nigerians who are in dire need.”
She disclosed that the foundation would embark on several projects including community engagement and support for widows and orphans and provision of basic amenities like clean and drinkable water. “Also, we will be donating school materials to orphans, construction of classrooms for rural schools, and payments of school fees for children of widows and orphans.”
Owatemi said that the foundation was borne out of the passion to create an enabling channel where the needy, widow, orphans, and less privileged in society can be reached out through various avenues which include: society welfare packages like health, care support, education of the scholarships programmes, business set up, among others.
She added that the main focus of the foundation is to rescue widows and orphans from basic reproaches and to provide help in our own little way.
