Founder: Vision Varsity will ease access to tertiary education

Vision University has berthed in Ogun State, precisely in Ikogbo town, Ado-Odo/Ota.

 The provisional licence was granted on May 15, signed by Executive Secretary of National University Commission (NUC), Prof Adamu Rasheed, and former Minister of Education, Malam Adamu Adamu.

Founder, Prophetess Ngozi Okafor, said Vision university would tackle the problem of access to tertiary education.

 “The university will tackle the problem of access to tertiary education. Government alone cannot handle this, hence there’s a need to establish private institution”.

 “We are taking off with 15 undergraduate programmes in Faculty of Basic Science, Faculty of Humanities, Management and Social Sciences”, she said

 Dr Okafor gave two students from the host community, Ikogbo, scholarship, to support indigenes, through their traditional ruler, Nurudeen Osoja, Onikogbo of Ikogbo Awori.

 Onikogbo  commended the institution for the quality of infrastructure on campus.

 “I have gone round the campus. This is impressive because few universities start their journey on their permanent sites. The infrastructural provision, facilities and modern equipment are good enough for a university,” he said.

 Vice Chancellor, Prof Benjamin Ekenyem, said all academic programmes have been accredited by NUC.

 The professor of Animal Production said the institution would train students to be  employers and entrepreneurs to contribute to the nation’s socio-economic development.
