French Village gets CEO

Prof. Samuel Kolawole, a Professor of French Studies, with special interest in Translation Studies, Stylistics and Linguistics, yesterday emerged as the director and chief executive officer of Nigerian French Language Village in Badagry, Lagos.

Announcing his appointment after hours of screening, Alhaji Labiru Musa, the chairman, Governing Council of NFLV, said Kolawole emerged as winner in an interview conducted by the council on Wednesday.

He said: ‘’Following your success at the interview conducted for the post of director and chief executive officer of the institution on February 5, by the council of the NFLV, the Governing Council has approved your appointment as the director and chief executive officer of the institution.

“Your emolument and condition of service shall be as approved by the Federal Government for the chief executive officer of federal universities or equivalent positions.

“On behalf of the Governing Council and management of NFLV, I congratulate you on this appointment and wish you a successful tenure.”

The new director said he was excited and fulfilled about the appointment, promising to work for the progress of the institution.

He said he started lecturing in 1990 at the former College of Education in Ikere Ekiti, now Ekiti State University of Education.
