Starting June 1, 2025, citizens of Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Peru, and Uruguay will be able to enter China without a visa for short stays, marking a significant step forward in China’s efforts to deepen ties with Latin America.
Foreign Ministry spokesperson Lin Jian announced the policy update, stating that it reflects China’s commitment to greater openness and strengthened international cooperation.
The visa-free policy allows travelers from these countries to visit China for business, tourism, family visits, cultural exchanges, or transit for up to 30 days.
This initiative aims to boost people-to-people exchanges and further solidify diplomatic and economic relations between China and the five South American nations.
Lin added that China will continue to explore additional measures to facilitate international travel and cooperation.
With the inclusion of these five countries, the total number of nations whose citizens can enter China without a visa has now risen to 42.
