The Central Council of Ibadan Indigenes (CCII) plans to raise funds for the completion of the Olubadan’s palace.
The project, launched about two years ago, is in its first phase.
CCII President Wole Akinwande spoke yesterday at the unveiling of the logo for Ibadan festival, with the theme: ”Ibadan Festival: Advancing our Heritage” slated to hold between February 2 and March 11.
He said: “The palace construction is still in its first phase. This phase has the meeting room for the Olubadan-in-council, clinic, administration office, reception hall, and have been plastered. But we are yet to build a fence, buy a generator and build a transformer house.”
Akinwande said the group would be raising funds for the completion during the first year anniversary of Oba Saliu Adetunji on March 4.
Speaking on the Ibadan festival, he said the event, which started in 1991, was to foster the unity and development of Ibadan indigenes.
