Association of Nigerian Students in Europe (ANSE) has appealed to
Niger State to sponsor more indigenes to study abroad.
The association, in a briefing in Abuja, appealed to Governor Sani Bello to provide scholarship for the indigenes to enable them join their counterparts to study in Europe.
ANSE president Muhammad Bashiru Saidu said it would be in fulfilment of the governor’s campaign promises.
He said: “We need the state to do enough in the area of scholarship for its students compared to other states.
“Other states are doing their best to see that there is sponsorship for those who have acquired admission to study in Europe.”
ANSE is an umbrella body of Nigerian students studying in European countries and Turkey.
Earlier this year, it pledged to give scholarship to three students each from the 36 and the FCT to study in Turkey.
