An All Progressives Congress pressure group in Ondo State, Ondo Redemption Forum (ORF) has nominated a notable educationist and the state’s representative on the board of Odua Group of Companies, Prince Peter Oyeleye Fasua, for the position of Deputy Governor.

The group appealed to President Bola Tinubu and Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa, to give Fasua’s choice, consideration.

The group in a statement in Akure on Saturday, signed by its chairman, Hon Oluwole Jelili, and secretary, Mrs Folashade Adeyemo, described Peter Fasua as a right peg in a round hole, applauding him for his contributions to the education sector and agricultural development of Ondo State.

“Sentiment apart, Prince Fasua has given his all to the development of Ondo State. Upon his return from the United States of America, rather than invest in urban communities like Lagos and Port Harcourt, he brought virtually all to Ondo, his home State.

“He has given scholarships to about 1000 indigent students of Ondo State at the All States College of Education Ero-Akure,  which he established many years ago; around which he also set up a ranch for animal husbandry.

“Besides, he built hostel accommodation for students near Adekunle Ajasin University,  Akungba-Akoko to assist the government in solving shelter problems facing most of the students.

“Even at the Lagos Airport Hotel, Lagos, where he serves for Odua Board as Executive Director, Prince Fasua has brought so much transformation that many can attest to, nationwide,” the ORF applauded.

The OSF noted that Akure-born Fasua has also stood firmly with now Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa at a time the governor, then as deputy governor, was facing a serious political crisis, which is confirmation of his sense of loyalty.

The group also commended the new administration of Governor Aiyedatiwa for commendable steps in building on the legacies of the late former Governor Rotimi Akeredolu,  who died recently.

“Despite facing so many challenges from detractors at a time when his boss was ill, Aiyedatiwa maintained a cool and focused mien, doing his best to carry on with the affairs of governance.

“Even after assuming office as Executive Governor of Ondo State, Aiyedatiwa has been trying to rally all, regardless of what happened in the past, and has particularly embarked on policies that are targeted at lifting the standard of living of the masses in Ondo State,” the group commended.
