Gunmen abduct chief priest in Imo

The Chief Priest of Ala Owerri, in Owerri Municipal Council of Imo State, Reginald Ejioguwas, has been abducted.

The incident occurred at Christ-Church Road by Ihugba Street in Owerri, the state capital, at weekend.

Ejioguwas was reportedly forced into a car  along with the chairman of Umunwagbara in Owerri Municipal Council.

A resident said the chief priest’s abduction has created anxiety in the community.

The Imo Police Public Relations Officer, Michael Abattam, a Chief Superintendent of Police, said he would confirm the story but is yet to get back to our correspondent.
