Award-winning filmmaker and singer, Yinusa A. Korede aka YAK has described himself as an amazing storyteller.
The thespian, who is currently in New York to receive an award at 50th International Emmy Awards, expressed satisfaction over God’s given talents.
“I call myself a storyteller. All I do is tell amazing stories either with music, film, or whatever medium I find at my disposal,” YAK said.
Continuing the Theatre Art graduate said, “My biggest inspiration is God. My wild imagination, environment, and the contents I consume also play a big role in inspiring me to create an unforgettable cinematic experience. So far, I have directed about six short films.”
According to him, it was a dream come true for him, when his film titled, ‘Dividing Lines’ got recognition abroad.
“My film ‘Dividing Lines’ won at the 50th International Emmy Awards where I emerged a winner of the JCS International Young Creatives Awards organised by the International Academy of Television Arts and Sciences. I was invited by the Academy to attend the 50th International Emmy Awards and Member events in New York City where I was presented my award.
“Traveling to New York was a dream come true for me. I have always loved to travel around the world. It is even more beautiful that my passion for cinema put me on the world map as an international award-winning filmmaker.”
Musically, the 24-year-old YAK released his debut EP titled “Paranormally”. The project was released on his mother’s birthday, December 13, 2021.
