After winning his first bout against Angola’s Vidal Gaiesa at the ongoing 11th African Games, Kehinde Ademuyiwa has vowed not to miss out the gold medal this year.

Ademuyiwa who is competing in the men’s 75kg told NationSport at the games village Monday said that nothing can stop him from clinching the gold medal this year.

“I must admit that it was not easy beating the Angolans and I am happy winning 2-1 to advance to the next round against Algeria’s Abbads Lyes on Thursday. I have defeated several Algerian in the past and I am sure that this will not be an exception this year,” he said.

A confident Ademuyiwa however said that he would leave Brazzaville without the highest medal. “I think I came here with one mission and that is just to go home with the gold medal. I know it is going to be tough but with what I have seen so far, I think the gold medal is within my reach this year. I won silver medal in 2011, I think this time around, gold medal is my goal.”
