Ibile Eko Summit urges Tinubu to select all-inclusive technocrats’ team

The Ibile Eko Summit Group, a community organisation of indigenous Lagosians, has sent a message of congratulations to President-elect Bola Ahmed Tinubu on his electoral success.

This was contained in a communique issued at the end of an emergency meeting conveyed by the organisation to review the Presidential Election and preview the Governorship and State Assembly polls coming up tomorrow.

The communique, signed by the Group Coordinator, Prince Adelani Adeniji-Adele; and Secretary, Dr. Babatunde Odunuga, urged the President-elect to assemble an all-inclusive team of technocrats, which would assist him in fulfilling his electoral promises to Nigerians.

The group deliberated on tomorrow’s elections and resolved to support any candidate and party that would implement its demand for equity and justice.

It said it would support candidate and party that ensured equitable representation in appointments of officials to run the affairs of the state.

“We will support any candidate and party that will ensure the appointment ratio is shared between the indigenes and others on the basis of 75 per cent to 25 per cent, as it was done in the Second Republic,” the communique said.

The body said further that it would support candidate and party that would promote and ensure women and youth empowerment, which would be achieved through job creation, access to business loans and economic empowerment.

It said its candidate and party of choice should ensure respect for traditional institutions through respect and promotion of welfare of traditional rulers and chiefs.

The group decried the divisive political campaign being carried out by politicians in the state, noting that it had no preference for any candidate or party.

It said its aim was for a candidate, who would develop the state to emerge as the governor.

The organisation enjoined the residents to ensure a peaceful election tomorrow.

Ibile Eko Summit Group is a community organisation of indigenous Lagosians, whose membership is spread across the five divisions of the state, namely Ikeja, Badagry, Ikorodu, Lagos and Epe.
