Ibile Youth Academy to begin in Lagos on Monday

The Lagos State Ministry of Youth and Social Development, on Friday announced the commencement of its maiden leadership training programme for young persons, Ibile Youth Academy, (IYA) across the five divisions of the state.

The event will be declared open at the state’s youth centre in Epe on Monday March 6,2017.

The weeklong event will simultaneously take place at the youth centres in other four divisions of Lagos State; Ikorodu, Badagry, Ikeja, Lagos Island.

In a statement, Commissioner for Youth and Social Development, Princess Uzamat Akinbile-Yussuf said: ‘’There are many programmes that have been lined up to make the training informative, educative and thought-provoking for every participant.

‘’The participants will be exposed to the various leadership skills including self-discovery, volunteerism, goal setting, creative thinking, team building, information communication technology, employability, sex, sexuality and relationships, environmental responsibilities and finance and investment to mention among others.’’

She urged those who applied to participate in the academy to check their names from the list of successful candidates be pasted at the divisional youth centres this weekend.
