Ife Klub 1’s 40th anniversary lecture to hold Saturday

Ife Klub 1 will celebrate its 40th anniversary with a public lecture with the theme: The Yoruba: Yesterday, Today and Tomorrow, at Ile Ife, Osun State, on Saturday.

A statement by its president, Chief Adebisi Ogundipe, said two eminent Yoruba personalities – Prof Banjo Akintoye and Chief Leman Alabi – will speak on the theme of the lecture at Oba Okunade Sijuwade Memorial Hall, Enuwa, Ile-Ife, at noon.

The phase two of the Klub House Fund will be launched and investiture of new patrons and matrons, comprising two traditional rulers  – Adagba of Iyanfoworogi Ile Ife, Oba Adebisi Fatunmise and Olufewara of Ifewara, Oba Hezekiah Owolola – will hold same day.

Former presidents of the Klub, including Ahmed Ipoola Omisore, Chief Kayode Odunyemi and Moses Olaobaju, will also be admitted into the Klub’s Hall of Fame and presented with Certificates of Excellence for their selfless service to the Klub.

The anniversary is expected to begin with royal blessing of the club’s members by the Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi at Ile Oodua, Enuwa Square, Ile-Ife at 9 a.m.
