IFFHS nominates Lookman, Osimhen for 2024 awards

The International Federation of Football History & Statistics (IFFHS) has released its list of nominees for the 2024 awards.

Among the 30 players vying for the top spot is last year’s winner, Erling Haaland, the Norwegian forward who plays for Manchester City.

Notably, two Nigerian stars, Ademola Lookman and Victor Osimhen, have made the prestigious list.

Lookman, also on the Ballon d’Or shortlist, has had an outstanding 2024. His performances helped Atalanta secure their first European title, and he netted three goals that carried the Super Eagles to the final of the 2023 African Cup of Nations in Ivory Coast.

These awards cover various categories such as Best Men’s Player, Best Women’s Player, Best Goalkeeper, and more.
