The Inspector-General of Police, (IGP), Usman Alkali Baba has presented a cheque of N22,244,279.83 to the families of police officers who served the nation gallantly before their demise.
Commissioner of Police, Plateau State Command, CP Bartholomew Onyeka, who presented this on behalf of the Inspector-General of Police, said this was part of a gesture of IGP on the welfare of families of the departed.
Onyeka, presenting the cheques to the beneficiaries in his offices at the Police State Headquarters, Jos, the Commissioner of Police told the beneficiaries that the Inspector General of Police, IGP Usman Alkali Baba, understands the plight of the families of his men who died in active service and has shown laudable commitment to ensuring that they get what is due to them without further delay.

The Police boss who said that the sacrifices of their breadwinners cannot be quantified with anything, advised the beneficiaries to make good use of the money to address their felt needs and various challenges.
Also speaking, Mr. Nankin Njin who spoke on behalf of the beneficiaries thanked the Inspector General of Police for valuing the sacrifices of their loved ones.
The beneficiaries, according to the spokesman of the Command, DSP. Alabo Alfred, are Mercy Monday, Timchang Lanfnap, Barmani Nicodemus, Kelvin Monda Dantala. Moses Christopher, Danladi Dakup Dechi.
