Ikorodu West promises quality governance

Ikorodu West Local Council Development Area (LCDA) has inaugurated councillors, with a renewed pledge to deliver inclusive governance, transparent legislation, and development across all wards.

The swearing-in ceremony, held at the council secretariat was presided over by the Executive Chairman, Sulaimon Kazeem, who charged the councillors to uphold the trust of their constituents and ensure unity within the Sixth Legislative Assembly.

The  Council Leader, Jessica Oba, emphazised the need for collaboration and peace across legislative and executive arms.

“This Sixth Legislative Assembly must work in unity. We owe our communities development that reflects their real needs, ward by ward,” she said.

Oba, who previously served in the last legislative cycle and as a local government supervisor, reiterated her focus on Ipakodo Ward, promising to align her legislative agenda with community priorities.

Deputy Leader of the House Ehinyerimini Batife representing Majidun Ward, also pledged stronger engagement with the grassroots and increased performance in the new term.

“The first term was a learning curve. Now, we are better prepared to deliver. The people of Majidun and Ikorodu West can expect real results,” he said.

Batife announced plans to engage Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu on developmental needs in underserved areas like Ogolonto, stressing the importance of humility and strategic partnerships.
