Immigration Service rolls out contactless passports applications in Europe, UK, others 

The Nigeria Immigration Service, NIS, has announced the commencement of the second phase of the roll out of contactless Passports applications in Europe, United Kingdom and Ireland. 

According to the Public Relations Officer (PRO)  of the NIS, Mr A S Akinlabi, applicants can begin to apply from tomorrow, 7th of February. 

Akinlabi noted that the second phase was made possible following the successful roll out of the first phase in Canada in November 2024.

The Service Spokesman said in a statement that the Controller-General of the NIS, Mrs Kemi Nanna Nandap urged Nigerians in diaspora to take advantage of the roll out. 

“For emphasis the contactless Passports applications which is currently available on Google playstore (nis mobile) is designed to allow Nigerians renew their passports without visiting any Passports centres for biometric enrolment “, Akinlabi said. 

He expressed the commitment of the Service to innovative and efficient service delivery across the world.
