Imo indigenes in Lagos honour Madumere today

Imo State indigenes in Lagos State will today honour their Deputy Governor Eze Madumere.

The deputy governor will be installed the Life Patron of the Lagos chapter of the umbrella body, Imo State Towns Development Association, at the Airport Hotel, Ikeja.

The association, which is kick-starting the celebration of its 30th anniversary, will be charting a new course.

On Madumere’s choice, the group’s spokesman Tony Uzoma said he remained one of few consistent personalities who supported it even when he was not in government.

Uzoma said the event would begin with a lecture, with the theme: Akuruo Ulo, to be delivered by Mazii Tony Ohakwe, a former President of Imo State Towns Development Association, Lagos (ISTDAL).

The spokesman also said the chairman of the occasion is Prof. Anya. O. Anya.

He recalled that Madumere was once recognised with the award of excellence by the group for his patriotic zeal, like Governor Rochas Okorocha towards ensuring a progressive Ndi Imo anywhere.

Personalities expected at the event include the Chief of State, Government House in Imo State Ugwumba Uche Nwosu.
