The wedding fatiha of four female inhabitants of Birnin Kebbi Ophanage home – Zainab Bello, Zara’u, Rabiatu Adamu and Zainab – took place at the weekend.
The event, which took place at the palace of the Emir of Gwandu saw Governor Abubakar Atiku Bagudu serving as father to all the brides.
The governor was happy at the large turnout of people at the event and reiterated his administration’s commitment to the welfare of less privileged people in the society.
The sum of N40,000 was paid as dowry for Zara’u by Gaddafi Muhammadu Fana, while Lawal Yahaya Mera who married Zainab Bello paid N20,000 through his Wakil, Alhaji Bashir.
Mallam AbdulMuminu Abdulmumin Aguji who took Rabi’atu Adamu as wife paid N40,000 and Nafi’u paid N30,000 on Zainab.
The wedding fatiha was attended by the top dignitaries including the Deputy Governor of the state, Sama’ila Yombe Dabai, Deputy Speaker of the state House of Assembly, SSG, commissioner of police and several others.
