Insecurity: Criminals are feeling the heat in Ondo, says Aiyedatiwa

Ondo State Governor, Lucky Aiyedatiwa, has declared that the security measures put in place by his administration are already yielding positive results, warning that criminal elements in the state are now under intense pressure.

Speaking during an interactive session with youth groups across the state, Aiyedatiwa said his government will not tolerate criminal activities, especially in the forests and farmsteads where some suspects had recently been flushed out.

“We will not allow criminals to have comfort in our state. Right now, criminal elements who recently strayed into our forests and farmsteads are facing the heat. While we assure law-abiding citizens of protection, we shall continue to smoke out criminal elements that may threaten the peace and security of the state,” he said.

The governor also reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to youth empowerment, highlighting initiatives such as the payment of WAEC and NABTEB fees, disbursement of scholarships and bursaries, and the recruitment of over 2,000 teachers to secure a brighter future for the state’s youth.

“We have provided nano grant as business support to 5,000 youths, engaged 15,000 young people in labour-intensive public workforce programmes, and officially opened Youth Skill Centres across the state under the One-Youth-One-Skill Scheme,” he said.
