Former House of Representatives member, David Umbugadu, picked the ticket in Nasarawa with247 votes.
He defeated Major General Nuhu Angbazo (rtd) who got 203.
Former Minister of Information Labaran Maku withdrew from the race.
Umbugadu was the 2019 governorship candidate of PDP but lost to Governor Abdullahi Sule in the general elections.
