After his celebrated victory over Egypt’s Omar Assar at the just concluded ITTF Africa Cup held in Agadir, Nigeria’s Aruna Quadri has noved up to 29 in the July International Table Tennis Federation (ITTF) ranking released late on Wednesday.
Before the acclaimed win in Morocco, Quadri was rated 35 in the world with 2412 points and after the victory over Assar, the Nigerian garnered accumulated 39points to now have 2451points which shot him to 29 in the latest ranking.
Also as it is Aruna Quadri may have overtaken Assar in the continental ranking that will be released soon.
At the Commonwealth level, Aruna Quadri maintains his status as the best ranked player
Also for his performance in Morocco, Assar was rewarded with an improved global ranking as the Egyptian rose from 58 to 38 in the latest rating.
Egypt’s Dina Meshref held on to her dominance in the continental ranking as the Egyptian improved from 119 to 115 while Olufunke Oshonaike returned to the world rating with an enhanced rating from 215 to 213.
