Jama app for artisans unveiled

A new business opportunity has opened for artisans such as electricians, plumbers, tailors, welders, bakers, carpenters and others as a new app known as Jama Jama has been unveiled in Lagos.

Established by Mr Toheeb Sodiq, the newly unveiled Jama Jama App promises to connect individuals and organisations to certified artisans through a secure online system.

In an official unveiling at Bariga Local Council Secretariat Legislative Hall, Bariga, Lagos, the Chief Operating Officer (COO) of Jama Jama, Miss Abiola Sodiq said that the new app  ensures an easy experience, allowing service providers and those seeking for them hire skilled professionals at fair prices.

Miss Sodiq who explained how Artisans, service providers and individuals can easily navigate the app said all the artisans registered in their app are certified.

“Payment is made directly to Jama Jama and we charge only 5 percent of money charged by the Artisans. We pay back to the artisans as soon as there is confirmation that the job is done by the artisan and the job owner. We do this within 24 hours”, Miss Sodiq said.

Speaking at the unveiling, an official from the Youth and Social Development in Shomolu Local Council, Hon Idowu Adewale pointed out that the app is essentially designed for skilled artisans, stressing that, with the platform, the money charged is safe and the work as well.

Emphasizing  that such veritable platform is capable of weeding out trial and error risks, Hon Adewale said: “The platform has come to stay whether we like it or not. I advise the Artisans to fashion out how they can make maximum use of the Jama Jama App.

Adewale, a former Counsellor in Somolu Council Area also advised on the need for artisans to undergo training from time to time, while promising that the Jama Jama App will continue to be upgraded to to meet up the trend of time.

Also speaking, SSA to the Somolu Local Government Council Chairman,, Hon Ruth Ayomide applauded the Jama Jama initiative, saying that it will boost the business opportunities for artisans.

“Jama Jama App gives you connection and makes it easy for your business. It also acts as an intermediary between those looking for service and the service providers”, Hon Ayomide said.

Similarly, the CEO of -R-Entertainment, Mr Emeka Okwuokei applauded the founder and CEO of Jama Jama, Mr Toheed Sodiq .

Mr Okwuokei said the “Jama Jama App Is here to make something easier for all of us. There is a new trend for skilled workers. There is even a skilled visa for them. The app will make your visibility easy. It connects all skill workers and make them visible. It also gives you options of trusted professionals that will deliver excellent services. It is guaranteed to meet safe, trusted professionals”, Mr Okwuokei stated.

The event was attended by a wide array of Artisans drawn from both Shomolu and Bariga LGA.
