THE Jigawa State government has released N280 million to the state’s Pilgrim Welfare Board for logistics of the 2016 hajj.
Executive Secretary Muhammed Sani Ahmed broke the news while fielding question from reporters shortly after a stakeholders meeting.
Ahmed called on intending pilgrims not to panic on the disqualification of a carrier by the Saudi Arabia government.
He aded that the disqualification would not affect the pilgrimage, noting that Azman’s 400 passengers have been catered for.
He hinted that visas were ready and airlifting will begin on August 15.
“We initially selected two carriers-Max Air and Azman Air, but the Saudi Arabian government disqualified Azman Air.
“Only MAX Air will do the airlifting and we are confident it will give us the best. We have concluded all necessary arrangements required for the hajj and pilgrims will be air lifted from Dutse International Airport,” he said.
