JUST IN: APC guber aspirant Umeoji withdraws ahead of Anambra primary

Less than 24 hours to the All Progressives Congress (APC) gubernatorial primary election in Anambra State, one of the aspirants, Rt. Hon. Chukwuma Umeoji, has withdrawn from the race.

The development was announced in a statement issued on Friday by the APC National Publicity Secretary, Felix Morka, in Abuja.

Umeoji’s withdrawal reduced the number of aspirants vying for the party’s ticket in the upcoming November 8 governorship election to six.

According to Morka, Umeoji formally notified the party of his decision after holding consultations with his supporters.

The statement reads: “An aspirant in tomorrow’s gubernatorial primary election of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Anambra state, Rt. Hon. Chukwuma Umeoji, has informed the Party of his decision to withdraw from the election.
