A crucial meeting of the national caucus of the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) is currently underway at the Bauchi State Governor’s Lodge in Asokoro, Abuja, ahead of the party’s National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting scheduled for Tuesday.

Originally planned for late Monday night, the caucus meeting was rescheduled following the sealing of the party’s national secretariat, Wadata Plaza, by the Federal Capital Territory Authority (FCTA) over unpaid ground rents.

Although the official agenda of the meeting has not been disclosed, party sources revealed that the caucus is exploring viable options to ensure the NEC meeting holds as planned despite the latest setback.

Leading the meeting is the acting national chairman, Ambassador Umar Iliyasu Damagum, alongside members of the National Working Committee (NWC).

Also in attendance are eight of the party’s ten governors, including those of Bauchi (host), Plateau, Osun, Oyo, Enugu, Taraba, Zamfara, and Adamawa.

However, the governors of Akwa Ibom and Bayelsa states were noticeably absent.

Other prominent figures present include the Chairman of the Board of Trustees (BoT), Senator Adolphus Wabara; former Minister of Information, Professor Jerry Gana; former Niger State Governor, Dr. Mu’azu Babangida Aliyu; former Senate President and chairman of the party’s NEC Reconciliation Committee, Senator Bukola Saraki; and Senator Ben Obi, among others.
