YOUTH Sports Federation of Nigeria (YSFON) has announced that the maiden edition of its U-16 Boys Super 6 football championship will be hosted by Kaduna State from June 17-21, 2023.
In a statement by the federation signed by its National Secretary, Patrick Okpavuerhe it stated that Southsouth will be represented by Bayelsa State while Bauchi State will represent Northeast with Kano State representing Northwest
Also, Southwest will be represented by Oyo State just as Nasarawa State will represent Northcentral with Abia State representing Southeast in the tournament.
The statement reminded all the zonal teams that they are to come to the competition with 20 players primarily under the age of 16 as of 30th, June 2023 accompanied by three officials, one of which must be either the YSFON zonal secretary or technical officer just as teams were advised to keep to the usual screening criteria.
All players for the tournament are also expected to present three recent passport photographs for licence and screening which shall take place from 7 am on Sunday, 18th June 2023.
The statement further explained that as usual, accommodation shall be provided at school hostels for all participating teams even as teams are advised to make provision for feeding and transportation of their players and officials as no provision will be made for it.
The Federation while advising teams against night travel reminded all participating states to pay their registration fee of Fifty thousand naira (N50,000) on or before June 9, 2023.
