Senate Chief Whip Orji Uzor Kalu has canceled all his scheduled official engagements in honour of Davido’s son, Ifeanyi, who passed away on Monday.

Ifeanyi, Davido’s first son, reportedly drowned on Monday in a swimming pool at his father’s residence in the Banana Island area of Lagos State, when the DMW boss and his fiancé, Chioma Rowland, were away from the house.

In an effort to resuscitate him, the three-year-old victim, after being pulled out of the swimming pool, was reportedly rushed to a hospital in the Lekki area where he was confirmed dead.

Celebrities and prominent persons across the world have continued to send condolences to the singer, who is planning to tie the knot with Chioma in 2023.

The police in Lagos said all domestic staff who were in the house during the incident have already been invited for interrogation.

Kalu, via a post on his official Facebook page, expressed shock, saying he was deeply saddened.

“Dear David/Chioma, I am sober, I am deeply saddened by the loss of your son, Ifeanyi.

“I have canceled my official engagements today to mourn him quietly,” he wrote.
