Kano Speaker wins APC Reps ticket

Kano State House of Assembly Speaker Hamisu Ibrahim Chidari has won the All Progressives Congress (APC) ticket to contest the House of Representatives election for Dambatta/Makoda Federal Constituency.

The Returning Officer for the primary, Aminu Sani, said the Speaker got 98 votes out of 105 total votes, while seven votes were invalid.

“Rt. Hon. Hamisu Ibrahim Chidari, having scored the highest votes, is hereby declared winner of the primary election for the House of Representatives in Dambatta/Makoda Federal Constituency,” Sani said.

A breakdown of the result shows that in Makoda Local Government Area, the Speaker got 51 votes with four invalid votes and in Dambatta Local Government Area, he polled 47 votes with three votes as invalid.
