The Abinu Kondoti Foundation has confirmed that they would be taking their investment in grassroots development in Ogun State a notch higher this year.
Coordinator of the project, Endurance Ofem, confirmed that the implementation of the 2022 session of the project is already in deployment in association with Ogun State Cricket Association.
“Grassroots cricket development is the soul of the game and we are working with the Ogun State Cricket Association on the promotion of the game in the grassroots,” he said. “Last year we had equipment donated to 30 schools and we got 10 coaches on monthly salary so they can be able to carry on with the school projects they have been saddled with without hassles.”

Ofem, a players’ representative on the board of the national body; Nigeria Cricket Federation, said the event is expected to run from October 1, 2022 till mid-2023.
He said that the event would round off with state wide championship where like this year, exceptional players would be granted scholarship.
“The top two male and female cricketers’ forms last year were granted scholarships and this is what we hope to repeat this year.”
