Chairman, Kosofe Local Government, Moyosore Ogunlewe, yesterday presented cars to officials and councillors of the local government.
This, he said, is in fulfilment of a pledge as well as actualisation of part of his responsibilities to make the officials happy.
Speaking at a low-key event at the council head office in Ogudu, Ogunlewe seized the opportunity of the moment to enumerate some of his administration’s achievements since coming into office in April.
“Since coming into office, we have done 13 roads, 7 drainages; and as we speak, we’re building a customary court. It is 95 per cent gone. In Oworo, we are building a health centre in conjunction with Access Bank and we’ll be handing it over by the first week of December.

“In the area of education, we have given out free 1000 JAMB forms, free 150 GCE forms twice, the second in conjunction with the Sohcahtoa Foundation.”
On why his administration has placed a premium on education, Ogunlewe said “Education is the best legacy anyone can give to a child. We were properly educated, that’s why we’re where we are today.
“We have also transformed the office environment for the council workers. We’ve been able to equip the offices with 42 brand new computers, 22 workstations and 84 brand new chairs.”
Speaking on his relationship with officers and staff of the council, the chairman said, “I am a grassroots politician; I’ve been in this for years, so I know how to relate with people, whether high ranking or lower officers. Don’t forget my father used to be a senator of the Federal Republic of Nigeria and a former Minister of Works.”
Secretary to the Local Government, Fatai Gbadebo, who is also a beneficiary of the vehicles, expressed his elation at the presentation, saying it is a fulfilment of the chairman’s promise.
He said, “The vehicles will make our movement, work and service to Kosofe people easy.”
