The Lagos State Government has suspended all activities of Road Transport Employers Association of Nigeria (RTEAN) with immediate effect.
The Special Adviser to the Governor on Transportation, Sola Giwa, said the association was suspended following pockets of violence recorded in Ojo and Lagos Island yesterday.

He said a 35-member caretaker committee has been constituted to run the affairs of the association. The committee is headed by Sulaiman Adeshina Raji, with Bamgbose Oluseyi as deputy chairman.
Twenty-two persons have been arrested over the clash, police said yesterday.
