Lagos West monarchs back Tinubu, Sanwo-Olu, others

Hundreds of Lagos West traditional chiefs have pledged their communities’ support for All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential candidate, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu and the party’s candidates.

They gave the pledge during a meeting at Akesan in Alimosho Local Government.

According to them, it was important traditional chiefs aid the success of the election by urgin residents to perform their civic responsibilities.

However, Chairman of Council of Chiefs in Lagos West and Baale of Ijon, urged the state to provide basic amenities in their domain.

These, he said, include good welfare, infrastructure, salary increment, elevation of their status, seminars and recognition of baales.

Senior Special Adviser to Governor Sanwo-Olu on Chieftaincy and Local Government Affairs, Robert Bibire, assured the chiefs Tinubu and Sanwo-Olu will serve the interest of the traditional institution, if elected.

Bibire maintained that Tinubu is passionate about Nigeria’s development, adding Sanwo-Olu and his exco would  continue to care for the state.

He promised to look into the chief’s complaints, especially in the area of elevating them, saying the government had done a lot in the development of the institution..

State secretary of the Council of Obas, Oba Kabiru Agbabiaka, the Osolo of Isolo, led Oba Sulaimon Ashade, the Oniba Ekun, Oba Maruf Adidas, the Ojon of Ejigbo, Oba Azeez Gbadabiu, the Onikotun of Ikotun, Oba Shakirudeen Kuti, the Elewu of Ewu, Oba Nojeemdeen Aberejo, the Alakesan of Akesan to the meeting.
